Overview
The IC-M85UL is Icom’s intrinsically safe marine VHF handheld, certified to UL913 Ed.8 and ANSI/TIA-4950-B for use in hazardous-cargo environments where a standard radio cannot be carried, such as tankers and other explosive-atmosphere vessels. It covers the marine VHF band alongside a supplementary land mobile channel capacity for shore-side and dockside use, with selectable output power on both the marine and land mobile channel sets. Built to the same rugged, waterproof standard as Icom’s wider marine handheld range, it pairs the certified hazardous-area protection with the straightforward, button-driven operation the rest of the M-series is known for.
