Overview
The AMEC WideLink B650 is a Class B SO AIS transponder using SOTDMA channel access for more reliable slot allocation than simpler CSTDMA devices, transmitting at either 5 Watts (37 dBm) or 1 Watt (30 dBm) across the 156.025 to 162.025MHz VHF band. It pairs a 72-channel multi-constellation GNSS receiver (GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, GLONASS) offering 2.5m accuracy and a 30-second cold-start fix with AIS receive sensitivity better than -111 dBm at 20% PER, and outputs data via two NMEA 0183 ports, NMEA 2000 (LEN=1) and a USB-C virtual COM port. The unit is IP68 rated, measures 151 x 129 x 50 mm at 400g, operates from -25C to +55C, and complies with IEC 62287-2, IEC 61108-1 and IEC 60945 standards.
Questions
