Overview
The Motorola XiR P6600i is a DMR digital handheld radio, available in full-keypad (LKP, 256 channels) and non-keypad (NKP, 32 channels) versions, covering VHF (136-174 MHz), 350 MHz and UHF (403-527 MHz) bands with 5W high power on VHF and 4W on the 350 MHz and UHF ranges. It uses the ETSI TS 102 361 DMR protocol with an AMBE+2 vocoder, and battery life scales with the fitted pack, from around 16 hours analogue and digital combined on the standard 1600 mAh battery up to 28.5 hours digital and 21 hours analogue on the high-capacity 3000 mAh battery. The radio carries an IP67 rating for dust and water intrusion, operates across -30C to +60C, and is tested to MIL-STD 810D and E for environmental durability.
