The AMEC TB520 is an AIS Man Overboard (MOB) beacon that combines a 72-channel GPS receiver with a 2W VHF AIS transmitter, sending Message 1 position reports and Message 14 MOB alerts to nearby AIS-equipped vessels once a minute with position accuracy better than 2.0m SBAS or 2.5m autonomous. It is IP68 waterproof, rated for immersion to 50m as an option, and can be triggered manually or automatically via its water immersion sensor, with a high-beam SOS LED exceeding 35 lumens and green/red status indicators for battery and GPS positioning. Its primary lithium battery runs for a typical 72 hours once activated and has a 5-year storage life, in a compact 132 x 52 x 40 mm, 160g unit that meets IEC 60945 and IEC 61108-1 standards.
